Site Features

If you need some extra features to add to your site, have a look at the following services. You're certain to find something useful whether it's a counter or a search facility.

Hit Counters & Trackers

Excellent all encompassing counters with a variety of styles available. Vast array of reports including referrals and anticipated traffic. Choose the one that meets your requirements or add more than one if you need to.

:: Sitemeter

:: Stats4All

:: TheCounter

:: WebCounter

Search Engines

:: Atomz.com

Atomz.com provides the search engine used on code-warrior, and for a very good reason. For FREE (up to 500 pages), you get a fully customisable site search engine. You upload a template for the search results page to keep your site looking consistent, add a simple form (code provided) to take search requests from your visitors and that's it. There are plenty of options to get things working just how you want, and all you need to do in return is display their logo on the search results page.

:: Google

Google's WebSearch enables your site visitors to search the Internet. With Google's Free WebSearch, you can co-brand search results with your colour scheme and logo. The optional Free SiteSearch enables you to restrict searches to the domain(s) you specify. Note: The free SiteSearch option is a sub-index of Google's main index. Updates are determined by Google and there is no guarantee of pages crawled.

Weblogs

The following sites provide several services from one site, which could save you having to remember several different login names and passwords. It will also keep the look of your site slightly more consistent.

:: Blogger.com

Perhaps the best known web logging site. Nothing to install and you can use this even if you don't have your own web space with the help of *BlogSpot.

:: Greymatter

A self install journal software. Slightly more complicated than blogger but it is much more customisable.

:: Movable Type

Perhaps the best of the bunch. MT includes trackback and comments features but is targeting more advanced users. The support forum however will help those with less experience.

Guest books

:: Dreambook

You can register for a free dreambook in seconds, which will give you links to two pages hosted on their servers: a page where people can read you guest book, and another where they can air their own views. As with most free resources, banner adverts will be added to the pages.

:: TheGuestbook.com

TheGuestbook.com (like its Counter equivalent) offers a simple service but with plenty of options to boot, including the ability to customise the basic look and feel of the submit entry and guest book pages.
